Don Greiner

Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals

1971 - My first experience into the world of structured music. I played clarinet. I excelled rapidly and starting private lessons in 6th grade, 1973. I have learned the basics of drums, bass, violin, trombone, flute, french horn, tuba, heys, oboe,... You name it, they showed me how it works. I borrowed a small used acoustic guitar from a neighbor and began learning Beatles tunes, basic chords and harmonies.

In 1977 I got a sax and acquired first chair in the county orchestra. I won awards for outstanding student performer and the music booster award in High School in 1979. I joined a band called Pixilation that year, with drums, guitar, bass, and sax. We played all original jazz/rock fusion tunes and made it to a few parties.

In 1982 I took some music theory classes and began concentrating more on guitar. I worked up enough material to play and sing at backyard parties...So many backyard parties. In 1992 I helped start a band called the Porch Boys playing acoustic sets now and then, carrying on the traditional backyard party theme to a few local pubs. 1994 - I am now concentrating on bass, taking a stab at yet another insrument for a band called the Crowded.
